I was randomly browsing on Soompi just then when I came across a link to my blog. I have not been on this since .. forever. Reading through it made me want to blog more – for memory’s sake.
I guess an update would be most appropriate right now.
So, in December of ’11, I flew out to the Philippines with my best friend. We spent the first two weeks together until he had to go back to Sydney. It was honestly so so so much fun and I gained new found friends/family and experiences. Then I stayed with my brother and eventually my Mum and Dad for the remaining 2 months until Feb. It was good family time
Here comes the unexpected part. So, around September ’11, I applied for USYD and UNSW through UAC. However, I wasn’t exactly set on actually getting in – I applied as a back-up just IN CASE I felt like actually transferring (if I had the chance to) It doesn’t really make sense why I applied if I type it out like this, but basically I applied to give me options. So mid-late jan, I logged into UAC to check offers after seeing 2011 HSC-ers posting about their uni offers and whatnot on facebook lol. To my surprise (yes, I was not expecting), there was an offer from USYD. Since I wasn’t expecting anything, I hadn’t planned for it and didn’t know whether I should take it. As I said, I applied just to give me options, not because I was so set on transferring.
So, after ‘consulting’ with my best friend, his sister, my brother and parents – the answer was pretty much clear. Sydney University it is. After going through the gruelling process that is Sydney Uni enrolment, I am now a student at USYD! (thank you to Niki who did my proxy enrolment while I was overseas hehe)
No looking back. I do not regret my decision at all. In fact, I’m loving uni so far. The people are lovely and my units this sem aren’t bad either haha. I have also decided – along with majoring in Accounting, I’m also going to major in Japanese as a second major
YES! Finally, something to break the apparent dryness that would be Accounting by itself. I don’t know if this will set my graduation back by maybe a semester, but I’ll try to squeeze it in so it won’t. If not, well, a semester later won’t hurt I guess.
Be prepared for PHOTOS! yay.
